Northern California is ChannelFireball's home turf, so it’s fitting we’ll be holding our first GP of 2016 in Oakland, California! It’s also the first GP of 2016, which means revised prize structures, expanded travel awards, and Day 2 participation for players with records of X-3 or better. Playmat InformationOur Grand Prix events always feature exclusive Ultra PRO playmats with beautiful art, so it's fitting that this time around we've got a playmat featuring a piece by Tyler Jacobson - the art from Ugin's Insight! Event LocationThe Oakland Convention Center is a beautiful and convenient venue! Access to BART is easy, so the many sights of San Francisco are never far away, and Oakland has its own charming eateries and tourist destinations as well. Whether you’re coming from Oakland International Airport (OAK), San Francisco International Airport (SFO), or Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC), you’ll have a short and pleasant journey.
Hotel & TravelNearby airports include Oakland International Airport (OAK), San Francisco International Airport (SFO), and Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC). Access to the convention center is easy from both OAK and SFO via Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART). Many paid shuttle options are also available from all three airports.

Meet the ChannelFireball Pros!Grand Prix Oakland will feature a group of ChannelFireball's sponsored professional Magic players who will be on hand to enhance your GP experience! Activities at past events have included spellslinging events, format seminars, Meet & Greet events, and the always-popular Foiled Again Bounty Event! Planeswalker registration will give you exclusive access to some of the VIP events featuring pros, so if that's the experience you're looking for, make sure you purchase that registration package.
Here's the current list of pro players and their schedule on Friday, January 8th. There will also be VIP Meet & Greet events from 12-2 PM and 2-4 PM on Sunday, January 10th, and the pro players attending that event will be announced during the weekend. Remember, the Meet & Greet and Q&A events are open only to Planeswalker registrants and will take place in the Planeswalker Lounge. All times and appearances are subject to change.
